How to Install Flash Player in Ubuntu for Firefox

There is not only one way to install the flash plugin for Ubuntu for Firefox. You can download the plugin from the Adobe site. You can also use the installation command to finish.

3 Ways to Install Flash:

  • 1. You should open up a terminal window and type in the command: sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer
  • 2. You can open up Synaptic (Add/Remove Software utility) and search for adobe and select "flashplugin-installer".
  • 3. Or you can also browse to a website that requires Flash.

Step 1. Click "Install Missing Plugins"

The third way is the easiest and reliable. When you go to a site that requires flash you will see a bar "Install Missing Plugins". Click that button..

Step 2. Choose A Flash Plugin to Install

It will call in a new window that asks you to choose which flash player you want to install from the three plugins as shown below.

Step 3. Choose Adobe Version and Continue

Choose the Adobe version and click Next. You will then be warned that the Adobe Flash Player will download and install another application. Enter your user password to continue. Click Finsh button when the installation is finished.

Step 4. Finish Installation

You will see the Flash player in the most recently installed list, which means you have finished installing the Adobe Flash plugin for Firefox in Ubuntu.
